David Beckham’s TVR on eBay

A TVR supercar built personally for England sporting legend David Beckham is for sale on eBay.

The TVR Cerbera was presented to the former England captain in 2000 while he was playing for Manchester United and has his name engraved on a plaque near the engine bay.

Wife Victoria requested the rare ‘Crystal Topaz’ paintjob and, to save a few quid, Beckham had the CD player from his Porsche transferred across.

The interior has been decked out with classy magnolia-coloured leather seats while the air-conditioning keeping the superstar cool while under the watchful eye of the paparazzi.

But if he wanted to get away from photographers, he wouldn’t have had much of a problem with the TVR boasting a monster 4.5-litre V8 engine developing a huge 450bhp.

When floored by the footballer’s famous right foot it was capable of hitting 60mph in just 3.8 seconds and accelerating all the way to 195mph.

Beckham owned the car until 2004, covering 17,700 miles with the current owner having kept it stored for the past six years and driving it just 100 miles.

The auction ends on September 4 and with the current top bid at £25,400 (Aug 27, 3pm).

Back in 2005, Beckham’s 1997 BMW M3 Cabriolet was sold through eBay for a staggering £90,000 – £75,000 more than what it was worth with a mere mortal’s name on the logbook.

He currently drives a host of matte black cars in Los Angeles including a Porsche 911 Turbo, Range Rover and Rolls-Royce Coupe while Victoria has worked with Range Rover on its new Evoque model.

That is one butt-ugly car. Sorry, I’ve always liked the older TVR styling, but this one looks like it was designed by Salvador Dali while drunk.
The interior looks as if, when rolling out the factory doors, someone screamed: “Wait! We forgot to design an interior! Quickly, toss in some ugly beanbags!”
And the colors! Powder blue with a tan interior?
Oh, wait, it’s ‘Crystal Topaz’ and ‘Magnolia’…
Sorry. Those colors are okay, then. Heh-heh.
No wonder he drove it less than 8000 miles in four years. He has taste.
