Jo Yeates murder: police hunt light-coloured 4×4

A light-coloured 4×4 could play a key role in catching Jo Yeates’ killer, it emerged today.
The off-roader was spotted in Longwood Lane on Friday December 17, the night Jo went missing. Her body was discovered by walkers in the same area on Christmas Day.
Police are now urging any motorists who were in the area to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Jones said: “We have had a number of reports of vehicles on Longwood Lane during the late Friday evening and early hours of Saturday morning including a possibly light coloured 4×4.
“This 4×4 and the other vehicles may be completely unconnected, but I urge anyone in that car or any other driver in the vicinity that night to come forward.”
The police also confirmed they are yet to locate the missing Tesco pizza purchased by Jo the evening she went missing – but are carrying out meticulous searches to locate the packaging.
DCI Jones added: “Details surrounding the pizza and the cider are all relevant and I appreciate have been of ongoing interest.
“What I can tell you is that we still haven’t found the pizza, but we have searched all bins in the area and we are working through 293 tonnes of domestic rubbish seized in the vicinity.
“This is a demonstration of the level of detail we are pursuing on this enquiry.”
Police have refused to confirm when they believe Jo’s body was dumped at the site near Long Ashton Golf Club due to the considerable snowfall which fell on Saturday December 18.
Forensic experts are continuing to carry out analysis at Jo’s flat in Canynge Road, Clifton.
The architect had vanished from the upmarket apartment – without her purse, keys, phone and coat – on the evening of Friday December 17, after drinks with colleagues.
Just hours earlier the Bristol University graduate shared a pub meal with boyfriend Greg Reardon, 27, before he left to visit half-brother Francis, in Sheffield.
They dined on a plate of cheesy chips and cokes at their favourite local pub, the Hope and Anchor, just one mile from their rented flat.
It would be the last time the couple – together for more than two years – would share a meal together.
She was last seen by friends leaving The Ram pub on Park Street at 8pm and was later captured on CCTV cameras as she visited Waitrose, Tesco and Bargain Booze on her half-a-mile walk home.
Receipts for her purchases were found at her home and only a Tesco Finest Margarita pizza was missing.
Her body was found on Christmas Day less than three miles from her home, near a quarry on Longwood Lane, by two walkers and their dog. She had been strangled.
Jo’s landlord Christopher Jefferies was arrested on suspicion of the 25-year-old’s murder and has been released on police bail.
