Alan Sugar joined Twitter today and used his first tweet to congratulate an eight-year-old entrepreneur who is following in his footsteps – by FIRING two classmates.
Mini businessman Connor Pickering hit the headlines after he said ”You’re fired” to two pals after they failed to sell enough 10p and 20p cakes in his school tuck shop.
Connor was then nicknamed ‘Alan Sugar Jnr’ by classmates at Stockingford Junior School in Nuneaton, Warks.
And today the youngster was praised by the real business tycoon himself.
Lord Sugar – who tweets under the name Lord_Sugar – wrote: ”The first thing I want to say – what a fantastic young man.
”I wasn’t that entrepreneurial until I was 11 at least!”
Yesterday Connor, from Nuneaton, said he was ”delighted” to be recognised by Lord Sugar.
He said: ”It’s always been my dream to work for Alan Sugar one day so I’m delighted he heard about me.
”He’s a fantastic businessman and hopefully I’ll continue impressing him.”
A spokesman for Lord Sugar said: ”Lord Sugar is always impressed with enterprising young entrepreneurs.
”He read about Connor’s approach to business and it reminded him of his own no-nonsense style.
”Lord Sugar will certainly be keeping a close eye on Connor’s career in the future.”
