Amanda Holden has tweeted a message of thanks to her fans after tragically losing her unborn baby over a week ago.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 39, wrote: “Chris and I would like to thank you all for the thousands of messages offering support and love during this horrendous time xx.”

It is the first time Amanda has spoken of her heartbreak since she lost her baby son seven months in to her pregnancy.

She admitted herself to West Middlesex Hospital in Isleworth, West London, after not feeling her baby kick for 24 hours. There was nothing doctors could do to save him.

Amanda and her husband, record executive Chris Hughes, 38, had decided to wait six months in to her pregnancy before announcing the news after she suffered a miscarriage last year.

Doctors still have no idea what caused the tragedy.

A friend of the couple told The Daily Mail: “At the moment, Amanda is just unable to function, I don’t think it’s even begun to properly sink in yet.

“She will never be the same again after this. The baby was physically perfect, just beautiful. Amanda had regular scans through her pregnancy, and they showed everything was fine. There was absolutely no warning.”

Although Amanda is still listed as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, her agent has reportedly ‘cleared the decks’ of work for the foreseeable future.
