A Christian TV channel is setting up its UK headquarters – next door to a LAP DANCING club.

Officials at GOD TV want to transform a derelict cinema into an entertainment venue and production studio beaming out Christian content across the globe.

But their closest neighbours will include nightclubs, casinos and Angels of Plymouth – a steamy ‘Gentleman’s Club’ next door that boasts “the most stunning lap dancers from across the world.”

GOD TV was founded in the UK in 1995 and broadcasts church services and Christian material 24 hours a day.

Despite the proximity to clubs and bars, bosses are pressing on with their plan to revamp the Union Street Millennium Complex and say it will generate 100 jobs.

GOD TV Spokesman Dean Seddon said: “It is a bit of a contrast to the nightclubs in Union Street but in many ways it’ll just be like people walking into a theatre.

“They’ll come to an event and then go and may have a meal and see some entertainment.”

Plymouth City councillor David Stark said: “We have plenty of lovely restaurants and bistros in the city.

“So if GOD TV brings visitors to Plymouth, there’ll be plenty for them to see and do while they are here.”

So long as the TV people remember who was there first and don’t start kicking off about striptease being wrong next to their building… they picked the location and many people will know so any claims to close the place down will be laughed at.

100 jobs? They are always scrounging on TV for more money, I don’t think so, maybe for restoring the building but after that I have no idea.
