A circus is offering free counselling to people who are frightened of CLOWNS, it emerged yesterday.

Ringmaster Attila Endresz hopes it will boost audience numbers for the circus, which opens in Newent, Glos., next week.

A poll found that coulrophobia, a morbid fear of clowns, ranks as the number three terror in the UK, behind spiders and needles.

Attila, of award-winning John Lawson’s Circus, said: ”It is surprising how many people seem to be frightened of clowns

”Although you would always expect to see a clown at the circus, some people react with terror. And I’m talking about the adults.”
