Police are hunting a burglar who was caught raiding a home – and said sorry before leaving.

The female intruder was confronted by the homeowner after waking him while ransacking the property in Plymouth, Devon.

She immediately apologised and left empty-handed after the raid on August 1.

A police spokesman said: ”The homeowner found a woman in his lounge at 4am and when he challenged her she told him she was sorry and walked out the front door.”
