Channel 4 has refused to apologise to Katie Price following comments made by Frankie Boyle on the Scot’s show, Tramadol Nights.

Channel 4 refuses to apologise to Katie Price over Frankie Boyle's Harvey joke

Price, who was disgusted by the Boyle’s jokes about her disabled son Harvey, will now make a formal complaint to the broadcasting watchdog OFCOM.

Katie and Harvey’s lawyer Mark Bateman of Archerfield Partners said: “Following our earlier statement, we are deeply saddened that, despite requests, publicly-owned Channel 4 has not met the 5pm deadline for an apology over the deeply offensive and hurtful sexual comments it broadcast about Katie Price’s disabled son Harvey.

“Accordingly, on Katie Price’s instructions, we can confirm that we have had no option but to formally complain to OFCOM on Harvey Price’s behalf about the comments.”

The model and reality star was sickened after Boyle made a “vile” remark about eight-year-old Harvey, who suffers from autism and various medical issues.

Boyle said: “I have a theory about the reason Jordan married a cage fighter – she needed a man strong enough to stop Harvey from f**king her.”

He also joked that “Jordan and Peter Andre are still fighting each other over custody of Harvey – eventually one of them will lose and have to keep him.”

The jokes have been met with horror by the public, who have taken to micro-blogging website Twitter to vent their fury.

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, who has been the subject of the Scot’s acerbic tongue in the past, tweeted: “Frankie Boyle’s comments on Katie Price’s son Harvey are vile. He should not be allowed to get away with this!!!!!!!”

In a previous statement, Channel 4 said: “Frankie Boyle is one of the highest profile comedians in the UK; he’s well known for his controversial humour and the programme carried appropriate warnings as to the nature of the material.

“The joke aired in the context of a late night comedy show. The joke itself has been performed by Frankie as part of his stage show and, as with much of his material, is an absurdist and satirical comment on high profile individuals whose lives have been played out in the media.”

whats so funny about taking the pee out of a disabled child!?

  2. Who cares? says:

OMG, a comedian being offensive??? Why doesn’t Katie just tweet that Frankie has HIV? I love to see hypocrits run amok in society.

  3. Katie_Jordan says:

    it’s funny cos its true

  4. Tamara says:

What hilarious that someones taking the piss out of a kid who has done nothing wrong? Fair enough make jokes about them, they dont care but dont drag an innocent child into it! Your sick

    • Bernard says:

Yes Tamara a very reasoned argument seeing as Harvey wouldn’t even see the show even if he had the faculties to understand it.
I am surprised his mum got it!
Are you sure you got it?
Do your carers know you use the internet?

  5. Ron2396 says:

I only watched the programme for a few minutes, I couldn’t understand what the porridge wog was saying.

    • Niall-e-boy says:

Thats it my friend, lead by example! twat

      • Ron2396 says:

Take it you’re one of those well balanced Jocks, got a chip on both shoulders. The man is a smug bastard who says things to shock, not to amuse and caters for an audience who think its fun to make jokes about about the disabled and less fortunate and then stands smirking like a naughty schoolboy . The trouble is that thre are too many in society who get their kicks this way . Anyway porrigde wog isn’t derogatory, its just “a joke ” about the less fortunate to get a cheap laugh and a reaction and it worked, the difference being that I don’t do it for a living on TV .

Comedians are always known now for their ‘risky’ humour. but I am disgusted. It’s an attack on a mentally disabled child. I don’t care for katie price at all but that shouldn’t matter. I myself have a severely autistic younger brother and god knows if anyone said anything offensive about him I would destroy that f**ker! this is my calm response.

  7. ThePeople says:

It’s not an attack on anyone, it’s not malicious, it’s a ‘joke’. It was said to get a reaction, deal with it. Some people make me laugh…

    • Glyn Ednie says:

Frankie Boyle isn’t in the least bit funny. He is the comedy equivalent of the playground bully who gets his jollies out of saying fart, knickers and poo. Jimmy Carr is edgy but funny, Rob Brydon is intelligent and hilarious, the newcomer Kevin Bridges really reflects Scottish humour. Boil is boring and deserves the sort audience who think his sick topics are funny.

      • Bernard says:

Glyn are you mentally retarded? Are you parents cousins?
Did you manage to write this startling put down all by your self?
I think Frankie will be terrified by the rapier like wit that is Glyn Ednie.
New kid on the block Glyn Ednie.

      • James Cottee says:

His surname is spelt Boyle not Boil. Reflects your intelligence.

  8. Iambored321 says:

That was pretty funny – I still do not understand why people who might get offended by comedians like frankie boyle and jimmy carr go to see them or watch them. I get offended by justin bieber, do you know what I do, I don’t listen to the idiot

    • Red Man Scotia says:

Comedians such as Jimmy Carr, Billy Connolly, Ricky Gervais occasionally come out with near to the knuckle jokes but their whole act doesn’t depend on them. Boyle is like a modern-day Bernard Manning, but even less talented. Frankie boy keeps on spewing out his saddo vitriol without ever regretting any of it and in a way I feel sorry for his screwed-up psyche, but I wont watch him again. I had already switched off the first episode of Tramadol Nights as boring even before his sexual jokes about a handicapped child, a dead cancer victim and someone giving Christ a BJ. I just hope he starts on darkies, chinks and insults the prophet Mohammed to finish off and then lets see what that does to finish his career.

  9. bulbasaurus says:

Its a malicious statement dressed up as a joke. She should sue the pants off him and Channel 4.

    • fred says:

omg its a joke so take it as one not as an attack on some blonde bimbo, what happened to freedom of speech the right to say what u want even if it offenders people which is why i can say ur a cunt and that word will get blocked cos no one can take a joke

      • who's askin'? says:

        Oh you badman.
Seriously? You think it’s okay to verbally attack a child? Frankie Boyle can take the piss out of any adult celebrity he wants; if he’d been talking about Katie’s boobs, or her and Peter, or her and Alex, or anything about her, and I’m sure she’d have let it slide. But no, he brought her son into it. Her little boy. When you have children (or grow up.) you may understand that children mean a damn lot to parents, and if Frankie Boyle was making sexual, ignorant remarks about YOUR little boy or little girl, I can guarantee you: You would not be calling it an innocent joke.
Also, pay attention in English classes, you utter sket.

  10. SHAA says:

It is a moral disorder to involve some one child to humiliate a person, a joke such as this is unacceptable and should be punished

  11. Johnnyo says:

Who the fuck is Katie Price? Why do we care what she thinks about anything? Freedom of speech means you can say what you like even if it offends. I get pissed off with the ( I believe in freedom of speech but) brigade. If you can stop me saying what I want to say regardless of how much it offends you then it has been lost.

    • Dawn100268 says:

You seem to miss the point, sooner or later someone might take the piss about something you care about, (if pos) and you may be able to laugh it off, I truly hope you can, but people who dont give a shit about others are of no benefit to society and are stuck in the dark ages. Spite disguised ineffectively by the word humour is loosely translated as bullying!

  12. Steve says:

Strange how people used to think Bernard Manning was offensive – he was restrained compared to this.

Why stop there Frankie? Are you going to do some racist ones too?

  13. woolyleprechaun says:

I used to quite like Frankie, I loved him on mock the week and enjoyed his book, but Tramadol Nights is just disturbing. i did find it offensive [and not just as I have an Autistic son] but didnt complain as i felt adequetly warned as to the contents.

  14. Crasscrazy says:

At the end of the day you dont need to watch the show, if you dont like it dont watch it, dont ruin it for the people who like franky boyle and find him funny also the only reason why she asked her lawers to write to channel 4 is because she is to stupid to do it herself. If you dont like it, dont watch it, it isn’t fucking rocket science.

  15. VampDude says:

Frankie Boyle is funny as hell, I laughed at all his Jordan/Harvey jokes.

  16. Peter Glass says:

As a perfectly able and expressive individual on the autistic spectrum, I think Frankie Boyle’s joke about Jordan’s son, Harvey is a vulgar attack on a disabled child, even on Harvey who is so severely disabled that he needs lifelong care. Jordan has to watch him constantly and deal with his temper tantrums and bad behaviour.
