Two-year-old Daisy leaps out of her basket, hops onto a stool and skips onto the bar as her owner and landlord Ned Clarke yells: ”Time please, gentlemen.”

She then balances on her hind legs and tugs the bell’s rope with her teeth to signal drinking-up time at the The Three Tuns in Hotwells, Bristol.

Ned, 27, said: ”She always seemed interested when we rang the bell.

”Then one day she just jumped up on to the bar and grabbed the rope in her mouth and went to town.

”From that day on that was it and it became an obsession for her.

”She knows she has a little bit of power and she loves it because it has made her famous.

”As far as I’m aware she is the only dog to do it.”
