A launderette worker was celebrating today after she cleaned up – with a whopping £1 MILLION lottery win.

Beaming Sue Corley, 59, couldn’t believe it when she scooped the top prize in the EuroMillions raffle – despite rarely buying a ticket.

The mum-of-one was one of 100 Brits who netted a £1 million prize after they matched a winning line in the promotional draw on July 26.

Sue, from Newark, Notts., was presented with a prize cheque outside Balderton Dry Cleaners and Laundrette, where she has worked for 15 years.

As she popped open bottles of champagne, grandmother Sue vowed to continue working but said she hadn’t decided how to spend the money with husband James, 64.

She said: “It’s all very surreal, I was dead excited when I phoned up to confirm and they told me I was a winner.

“I often play the regular lottery at the local post office but I usually only bother with the EuroMillions when there’s a special draw on.

“So I bought a ticket, not really expecting to win, but when I checked the numbers I couldn’t believe it.

“I took the ticket into the post office on the way to work to get it double-checked.

“The chap usually checks the ticket, it usually isn’t a winner and he throws it away for me.

“This time he whispered to me that he had to give me the ticket back and that I should ring Camelot.

“He asked me how much did I think I had won and I shouted out, because no one was in the shop at the time – a million pounds!’

“I’ll keep working for the time being but it’s good to know that I’ll be able to take care of my family and not have to worry too much about money.

“I love my work and my colleagues are great.

“This win means we can have financial security – James and I can buy a new bungalow, I can buy my son a house and I can put money in trust for my grandchild.

“I’m looking forward to a comfortable life.”

Sue bought her ticket at Balderton Post Office and the winning raffle code was CBK579391.

The grandmother is also part of a work syndicate, which buys tickets together with a view to sharing the winnings.

Susan Dalby is one of the other workers at the launderette who is also in the syndicate.

But the 58-year-old said she was not jealous of her friend.

She added: “It is a great day – we’re really pleased for her. She’s a pleasure to work with.”
