Chelsea have had a bid for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres accepted, according to reports.

Liverpool accept Fernando Torres bid - report

The Mirror’s Darren Lewis tweeted: “It appears Liverpool have accepted a bid for Torres. Just trying to confirm it but our men say yes.”

Lewis also tweeted that Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is having a medical at Bolton Wanderers, ruling out a move to Liverpool as part of the Torres deal.

Torres’ departure would leave Liverpool severely short on firepower with Dutchman Ryan Babel signing for Hoffenheim last week.

If the deal is confirmed and Torres passes a medical at Stamford Bridge, it will leave Kenny Dalglish 12 hours to find a replacement for the Spaniard.

Fans of the Kop club have tweeted their interest in Liverpool looking at Newcastle striker Andy Carroll with the bullish frontman in superb form for the Magpies this season.

Liverpool have confirmed new signing Luis Suarez has passed a medical and are waiting for the Uruguayan to receive a work permit. The Anfield club are also expected to make a fresh bid for Blackpool’s Charlie Adam, who has attracted interest from Liverpool’s bitter rivals Man United.

Slyrex: Well I aint a fan of all these fc Clubs in england but I know I would choose any other team except for Man Utd and on what I gotta say to ’em lvpool fans is…all is well and not lost. These things do happen but I think y’all have to pardon this player and look at things from his point of view cos me just reading about this player some few minutes ago tells me he so loves livpool but only seemed deceived by the superiors so I’d give a thumbs up for him being strong enough to come out with his new desire….I have been so wishing livpool could have been at least 5 trophies ahead of Man utd and trust me they could have but with the departures of all the good players they kept selling out who never requested to leave just made me realize that livpool dont look like to be going nowhere…Big Ups and more success to your new adventure with this new team Torres A.k.a EL Nino
