Liverpool line-up v SC Braga: Carroll on the bench

March 10, 2011 | by | 0 Comments

Andy Carroll will start on the bench for Liverpool in tonight’s Europa clash against Portuguese side SC Braga.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has made four changes from Sunday’s victory against Manchester United with Soto Kyrgiakos, Christian Poulsen, Jay Spearing and Joe Cole returning to the starting 11.

Making way are the injured Steven Gerrard and Fabio Aurelio while Maxi Rodriguez starts on the bench. Luis Suarez travelled to Portugal but is ineligible after playing for Ajax earlier this season in the same competition.

Andy Carroll is expected to come on at half-time after the club’s head of sports medicine Peter Brukner revealed he’d “play for a longer period of time”

The match takes place in the extraordinary Estadio AXA which was constructed on the side of a quarry and overlooks the town of Braga.
