This is the moment a tube worker who fell asleep at a bus stop after a boozy night on the tiles was rudely awakened by his trousers being pulled down – by a FOX.

Stunned Steve Gould could not believe his eyes when he saw the ginger pest trying to tug off his strides – and gnawing on his new trainers.

The 35-year-old had been on a night out in Soho, central London, when he tried to get the underground home but fell asleep and missed his stop.

Steve then tried to get a bus back to his home in Thurrock, Essex, but nodded off again – before being awakened by the cheeky fox.

He said: “I must’ve passed out and woke up at half past three, looked down and saw the fox nibbling on my trainers.

“It must’ve woken me. When I came to, I just thought, ‘what the hell’. I thought, ‘what the hell are you doing?’

“It was just curious – I wasn’t scared at all because it seemed to be saying either, ‘come with me and have an adventure’ or ‘get your kit off’.

“I immediately reached for phone my phone in my pocket and managed to get a few shots. It didn’t flinch or move or anything – he was absolutely fearless.”

“I got up and he moved back a little bit into the middle of the road as if to say, ‘come on, have a laugh’.

“Then another fox appeared and I stayed absolutely still, still drunk. I thought, I don’t understand this.

“I didn’t end up making it home, and stayed at a friend’s in Peckham. I love animals and think they’re adorable. He was so playful but not biting at all.”

Steve reckons he had never seen his foxy friend before, and after a few moments it ran off – leaving teeth marks on his trainers and shoes.

He said: “Last month I was out for a drink – quite a few drinks, actually – in Soho.

“What I normally do at the end of the night, is get on a couple of tubes to Upminster a taxi home from there.

“But I fell asleep on the tube and woke up further on than Mile End. I didn’t know where I was, slightly disoriented, and found a bus stop that had a night bus service – it must’ve been half-twelve, one o’clock.”

Steve, who works in customer service for the London Underground, added that he’s keeping an eye out for his new friend, but hopes he won’t be waking up in Mile End any time soon.
