These shocking images show a young family’s plight as their home is plagued by swarms of flies – as one flies INSIDE a child’s mouth as he sleeps.

Jamieleigh Dale, 19, says the infestation in her home has even seen her two-year-old son Stephen choked himself awake on the flies after landing in his mouth.

Mum-of-two Jamieleigh has lived at the property for 10 months, but the nuisance fly problem has got progressively worse during the summer months.

She has shared the stomach-churning pictures in the hope of shocking people into action after feeling as if she has nowhere to turn.

Jamieleigh, of Warrington, Lancs., said: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw the flies crawl out of my child’s mouth. It’s disgusting.

“Some nights he wakes up choking so I spend nights sat up with him paranoid that I will not hear him.

“Stephen has asthma and fly spray makes it worse.

“And he has been off school for the last three weeks with sickness and diarrhoea.”

The family have been living in the social housing property since October but, despite repeated complaints, the problem has continued to escalate especially since the beginning of the summer months.

Jamieleigh said: “It’s terrible – you go out for half-an-hour then come back to fly poo everywhere.

“It drives you absolutely nuts. Every time you sit down there ten flies on your arms and legs.

“If the kids eating they are crawling all over their dinner and swimming in their drinks.

“They are crawling all over you while you lie in your bed at night.

“My kids’ health is being affected by this – they are waking up eight-nine times a night.”

The 19-year-old is not the only resident who has complained about issues surrounding flies.

Tanya McNeil, who also lives on the estate, has also suffered from similar issues.

flyShe said: “The flies are that bad that you have to kill lots of them each day.

“You also can’t leave your doors or windows open just because they all swarm in.”

Homeowners on Warrington’s Edgewater Park were blighted by high numbers of flies last summer, which led the Environment Agency (EA) and council to investigate.

But the problem is continuing to impact on the lives of those in the area.

Andrea Howarth, director of housing at housing association Plus Dane, said the company was determined to do all it can to alleviate the problem for residents.

SWNS_HOUSE_FLYS_01She said: “We are aware of the issues faced by our tenants again this summer and are equally concerned about how the matter can be resolved.

“A number of actions have already been taken by relevant parties but they do not seem to have resolved the problem.

“We are continuing to work to push for further action that will see the issue resolved for our tenants and will keep them fully informed as to what is being proposed to resolve the matter.”
