Dappy from N-Dubz has been drafted in by Channel 4 to deliver their annual alternative to the Queen’s Christmas speech.
The North London rapper told The Sun: “I’ll be giving a very different take on things to Her Majesty.
“I’m going to be talking about things that matter to young people today, keeping it real and relevant.”
The British public have developed a love-him-or-hate-him relationship with the pint-sized pop star, real name Dino Contostavlos, thanks to his on and off-stage antics.
His Never Mind The Buzzcocks appearances have attracted a cult following thanks to his unintentional comedy value, but he has also found himself embroiled in tabloid rows over cyber-bullying and drug-taking allegations.
Dappy may struggle to live up to last year’s alternative message presenter, acid attack victim Katie Piper. But he is still less controversial than 2008’s choice, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
