A pervert has been jailed for six years after he had sex with a schoolboy just days after setting up a Halloween MAZE for children in his back garden.

Daniel Bossons, 31, was granted a special event licence by his local council in October 2012 for the elaborate attraction which was based on an Alton Towers theme park ride.

A court heard he constructed the spooky maze using security fencing, lasers and an old piano before adding extra touches with a short video about an ancient curse on his home.

He also encouraged family and friends to dress up as horror characters such as zombie schoolgirls after he was inspired by a visit to a ‘Scarefest’ event at Alton Towers.

Chillingly, Bossons said at the time: “I just thought it would be good to have something for the children to do on Halloween.”

Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard the event on October 31 was attended by hundreds of kids at his home in Kidsgrove, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs., but days later the builder ‘took advantage’ of a teenager struggling with his own sexuality.

After befriending the youngster the pair performed sex acts on each other and engaged in full intercourse.

On Friday Bossons pleaded guilty to two charges of sexual activity with a child and causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

He denied three charges of sexual activity with a child and was cleared by a jury of two counts.

But he was convicted of the most serious charge, which involved him having sex with the schoolboy.

Jailing Bossons for six years, Judge David Fletcher said: “You had picked him out as someone potentially, at the very least, unaware of his sexuality.

“He was veering on the side of being homosexual, demonstrating gay tendencies.

“You denied the matter despite overwhelming forensic evidence.

“The age difference between you was a big one. He was struggling with his own sexuality and you took gross advantage of this. There was a degree of planning.

“You satisfied your sexual requirements by using a boy.”

Peter McCartney, defending, said: “It was a bad time in his life and he became infatuated with the young lad. There was no coercion.”

Bossons will now be on the sex offenders’ register for life.

A spokesman for Newcastle Borough Council, who granted Bossons the license, said: “We do not feel it is appropriate to comment.”

I don’t know all the facts. But I know this ! He had sex with an underage boy! He KNEW the boy was underage! He tried denying it but there was forensic evidence against him. This boy has had no end of abuse from this mans family and friends. I think these people forget that the offender was a grown adult and the boy was UNDER the age of consent..
