The father-of-two, 32, thanked his adoring crowd for their support during the emotional gig at Butlins, Minehead, yesterday afternoon.

His remarkable recovery followed a turbulent 48-hours which saw the star undergo serious surgery for a mystery illness – causing him excruciating stomach pains – on Friday.

But he pulled himself off his sick bed to kick off his UK tour in front of
5,000 adoring fans, who had forked out for weekend passes at Butlins just to see him perform.

The Mysterious Girl singer packed out the resort’s Skyline Pavilion – and
revealed doctors had urged him to CANCEL his UK tour.

He left slip to fans he was ignoring their advice to scrap the eagerly
anticipated string of shows.

But Andre did obey one doctor’s order – that was not to dance.

During his hour-and-a-half long set, which included both old and new material, the star – flanked by his band and backing singers – did not bust any of his famous moves.

Afterwards his loyal supporters claimed his “miraculous” recovery was due to his love for them.

Die-hard Pete fan Emily Cross, 23, said: “We were so pleased he managed to make it on stage.

“It was such an amazing gig. I think Peter was in pain but he did not want to show it – he just battled through.

“He is an inspiration – such a lovely bloke and a wonderful dad.

“He came on stage and said the doctors had told him not to dance. He also said the hospital weren’t sure if he should continue with his tour.

“But he was determined to perform and he kept thanking all his fans for getting him through the last couple of days.

“I have been following him since I was little – so I was really looking forward to seeing him live.”

The 2,500 devastated fans – who had each shelled out up to £35 for a ticket – were told the performance would be rescheduled to December 21.

A statement on his website yesterday said Andre had undergone an emergency procedure, but did not specify what the condition was.

It read: “We apologise to all of Peter’s fans and appreciate their support and understanding.

“Peter had to have an emergency operation on Friday afternoon which was a success.

“Pete was released from hospital earlier today and is recovering.

“Peter would like to thank everyone for their support and their messages.”

Peter – ex-husband of Katie Price – recently revealed problems with gallstones and admitted he had been undergoing hospital tests for a mystery illness earlier this month.
