An app that sends an inspirational quote every day to help people cope with life’s stresses has been recommended by the NHS.

365 Positivity was created by Ben Arogundade after he found that uplifting messages helped him when he was dealing with the pressure of caring for his dying mother.

Ben had suffered stress-related health problems but found a way through by turning to motivational messages.

The writer and businessman, based in London, has now received a major boost in helping others after his app was  approved by the NHS, as one of its ‘safe and trusted apps to help you manage your health.’

It is the first ever mindful quotes app to be recommended by the organisation and Ben believes this is a ‘breakthrough’ in helping people to cope.

He said: ‘365 Positivity is like a series of digital fortune cookies — each haiku-like nugget of wisdom is designed to galvanise pro-active thought or action that could change your life for the better — all through the power of words.

‘The be recommended by the NHS is fantastic. It shows that inspirational words really can help people get through difficult times in their life.’

Ben said the app puts life’s universal wisdoms into 365 original quotes and sayings that draw on the principles of meditation, mindfulness, ancient proverbs and mind, body and spirit affirmations.

The app’s messages cover a wide range of popular topics, including love, kindness, motivation, success, health, diet and the beauty of nature, and feature contemporary and often humorous references to everything from ‘Star Wars’ to Deepak Chopra.

Daily messages are controlled via an alarm function that allows users to receive them at a time they control, and they can also refer back to their favourites at any time, or share them with others, as all quotes are stored within the app’s archive after download.

Features of the app include daily alerts for its 365 messages spread over the year, an attractive design with large format quotes that flip from portrait to landscape mode and auto-scrolling to see an automated slideshow of previous quotes.

Users can choose the time they receive the quotes, which are automatically saved to the phone, and can also be forwarded to friends and family.

365 Positivity is free for a seven day trial, followed by an in-app purchase option at $1.99/£1.49. Available now on the app store and Google play.
