This is the touching moment Prince William sheds a tear in the comfort of his aunties while attending the funeral of his beloved nanny Olga Powell.
Mrs Powell, 82, passed away last month after collapsing outside her home in Broxbourne, Herts.
Princess Diana’s sisters Baroness Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale also attended the funeral and were seen sharing stories outside the church with the prince.
The last song played at the funeral was ‘Lets Go Fly a Kite’ from Disney musical Mary Poppins in tribute to her role as the princes nanny.
William abandoned a high-profile royal visit to the North-East yesterday, leaving the Duchess of Cambridge to carry on alone, in order to be at the funeral.
Olga was 52 and recently widowed when she came to work for Diana and the Prince of Wales when William was six months old.
She had cared for both William and Harry for 15 years at Kensington Palace in London.
Her semi-detached home in Broxbourne, Herts, was filled with memorabilia and pictures of the boys – Olga had no children of her own.
In retirement, she even managed to give entertaining talks to women’s lunches and community groups about her life helping bring up the royal princes without once letting slip any secrets.
She never forgave butler Paul Burrell for what she saw as his ‘betrayal’ in writing his tell-all books about Princess Diana.
