Aging rocker Brian May has brought the fight against the badger cull to the digital generation and released a rap song – featuring Slash and SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH.

The rap tune ‘Badger Swagger’ is a far cry from the guitarist’s classic Queen tracks.

But the curly-haired rock star hopes the song will help urge the Government to stop the badger cull, which officially began on June 1.

The song features a raft of guest collaborators including former Guns N’ Roses axeman Slash, Massive Attack’s Shara Nelson, and beloved naturalist Sir David Attenborough.

May leaves the rap verses to Essex-based Sonny Green, who spits catchy rhymes including “We love the badgers and they matter to our nannas. Cameron where’s your manners?

“Why them cameras try scan us? Some are sitting in a palace, champagne and scallops – some are in the store house begging for a package.

“We can’t even manage and killing all the badgers ain’t gonna fix the damage.

“It is sinning and drastic, like killing for plastic.”

The song, performed under the group name The Artful Badger, went on sale today.

Music producer Rob Cass said: “To me all nature is beautiful. This track is my humble contribution to stopping the needless slaughter of badgers.

“I met the ‘Artful Badger’ team on a demonstration to stop the cull a few months back and we decided the best way we could help was to do what we do best, make music.

“We reached out to Brian May, Slash, Shara Nelson, Sam and The Womp, Sonny Green and lastly the wonderful David Attenborough, all people who care about animal welfare to contribute and they all did so happily and bringing their fabulous talents to the table.

“I’m very proud indeed to be a small part of this incredible team.”

During the 4-minute-long song, TV legend David Attenborough says: “So the government instituted a major enquiry to establish scientifically the facts that involved culling 11,000 badgers.

“And the results, by the government advisor to that independent scientific group were – that culling is NOT a viable policy option.”

Brian May said: “We created this track and music video together to raise awareness on the needless, unscientific, cruel and unwarranted slaughter of one of the British Isles’ most beloved and unique creatures.

“Backed by politics and fear, not science nor public opinion, this expensive and ineffective badger cull could well cause more problems than it cures – even our friend Sir David Attenborough says so.”
