One of Hollywood’s sexiest leading ladies got a taste of life in rural Scotland yesterday after spending the day tramping through muddy fields.

Scarlett Johansson in Scotland filming horror flick

Actress Scarlett Johansson was filming scenes for her sci-fi alien horror flick – Under the Skin – in the small Scottish coastal town of Auchmithie near Dundee.

The Lost In Translation star donned a black puffer jacket and fur-lined boots in an attempt to keep warm and dry while filming at the isolated location.

The star and her FilmNation crew blocked off a tiny country track for the shoot which led to a small cove surrounded by imposing cliffs.

They filmed from morning until sunset with scenes on the beach and stuntmen wearing wetsuits in the water – there was also a stunt double on set for the star.

Locals gathered around to try and catch a glimpse of the actress but they were kept at a distance by tight security.

Johansson, 26, has already filmed scenes in the Buchanan Galleries shopping centre in Glasgow and at a petrol station in Wishaw, Lanarkshire.

The actress stars as an alien seductress who roams the Scottish Highlands in search of male hitchhikers whose body parts she can harvest.

Johansson – whose character enjoys eating human body parts as gourmet food with her fellow aliens – was seen climbing out of a white transit van on set yesterday.

Based on a novel of the same name by Dutch-born author Michel Faber, the movie’s plot follows Johansson’s character – alien seductress ‘Isserley’.

The author – who lives near Inverness – set his novel in Ross-shire in the Scottish Highlands where Johansson’s character prowls the A9 road every morning looking for prey.

The American star spent two weeks prior to filming learning how to drive on the left side of the road and also underwent special training to equip her to drive a larger vehicle.

Directed by Sexy Beast writer/director Jonathan Glazer, Under the Skin is due to be released in 2014.
