I’m A Celebrity 2010’s first eviction saw Sheryl Gascoigne given the boot as Gillian McKeith stayed put thanks to her comedy value.

Homophobia 'virtually extinct' with men comfortable kissing male friends on lips

Although Gillian was favourite to leave at 11/8, her fainting fits proved too entertaining for viewers to let her go and they voted to save her.

Paul Gascoigne’s ex Sheryl, 45, received the fewest votes and was reunited with her family after 13 days in the jungle.

She told hosts Ant and Dec exactly what she thought of 51-year-old Gillian’s OTT reactions, saying: “She has a major phobia. I just don’t know why she came on the show. I really don’t believe she knew what she was getting in to.

“It is tough for her but people were voting for her to do trials because it is entertainment. Everyone else would have just got on with it but she was going crazy. It makes good TV.”

Sheryl said she is backing Stacey Soloman to win, who is also the bookie’s favourite at 5/6.
