A  Smart Meter company believes it offers young people some of the best opportunities for career progression after successfully promoting one of its administrators.

But hard-working Gemma has now risen through the company to become a Field Operations Administrator.

Trojan says it is a perfect example of how young people can further their careers.

Gemma said: ”Career progression and opportunities are always available at Trojan Utilities. Within 17 months I progressed from a Business Administrator to a Technical Administrator, and now to my current role as Field Operations Administrator.”

Gemma assists the team’s Field Operations Director with engineer development, appraisals, training and operational logistics such as recruitment planning, to ensure field operations throughout the company’s UK contracts are running at an optimum pace.

She added: ”Trojan allows people to succeed in whatever they want to. Willingness to learn, progress and develop as an individual is rewarded. My interest in departmental budgeting and accounts has led to the company providing access and subsequently enrolling me on an AAT level 2 (The Association of Accounting Technicians) college course to enhance my knowledge.

”At the age of 20 I could never have envisioned the position and opportunities I have been given. Trojan Utilities is one big team, and it means an awful lot to me. Everything that the company has accomplished throughout the past three years is astonishing and to be a part of that is something rather spectacular. I don’t see a future that doesn’t include Trojan Utilities, my future is Trojan Utilities.”

Trojan Utilities specialises in the installation and maintenance of domestic Smart Meters throughout the UK; including the installation and maintenance of traditional domestic gas and electric meters. With an infrastructure now established for national operations the company is supporting Government legislation to lower the carbon footprint of the UK by replacing the metering system currently in place with that of smart metering – to date they are currently installing 2,000 smart meters per week.
