A trainee midwife who only started pumping iron a few months ago has won the title of the best bikini body – in the WORLD.

Lauren Calladine, 22, hit the gym for an exhausting 18 hours a week to tone her petite frame into the perfect shape.

And her hard work was rewarded when she came first in TWO world championships for bikini bodies.

The super-fit beauty puts her enviable figure down to hitting the gym twice a day, six days a week, while packing in five high-energy meals to bulk up.

Retail supervisor Lauren, from Poulton near Cirencester, Glos., said: “To win two world championship titles after only starting training in June is just amazing.

“It still hasn’t sunk in to be honest. When I went up to get the trophies I was a bit dazed. It was amazing.

“It’s crazy, but I think it has just motivated me to push harder next year.

“It has been a very busy and tiring few months, going to the gym six days a week, twice a day, while still doing all my college work but it has been worth it.”

Bubbly Lauren was into athletics and boxing as a child and started going to the gym and working out on the treadmill when she left school.

But after watching her partner Rhys Spackman, 23, a personal trainer, compete in a body building competition, she was inspired to give it a go herself.

swns_best_bikini_02She hired a coach in June and started doing three hours in the gym every day – splitting it between a morning cardio session and afternoon weight lifting stint.

“The training became extremely strict – two sessions a day, six days a week in the gym as well as keeping to a very controlled diet,” she said.

“This was all while I continued working part-time as a supervisor in retail and studying at college to become a midwife.”

Size-six Lauren bulked-up with five carb, protein and fat-filled meals a day, but even so her top weight stood at just eight-and-a-half stone.

She entered the amateur Pure Elite competition in October and came 2nd in the Miss Bikini round for those aged 17 to 23, and first in the Bikini Short heat for people under 5ft 5in.

swns_best_bikini_05It gained her professional membership, and she went against other pros at the Pure Elite World Championships at London’s O2 Arena three weeks later.

She came first in both the Miss Bikini and Bikiki Short competitions, beating dozens of competitors from around the world.

“The judges look for a lean body with low body fat and you are also judged on your stage presence, as well as posing, hair, make up, tan and bikini,” she said.

“Thankfully I had Rhys to help me out and he was a massive support.

“He was waiting on me hand and foot and helped me through the day.”

Lauren, who lives at home with her mum, is now concentrating on her college studies in a bid to gain a place at Cardiff University studying midwifery.

She is on a “reverse diet” to get her body used to normal meals and exercise and has a place at the Physical Culture Association’s Bikini Toned British final in June next year.

She added: “I will definitely be returning to the Pure Elite stage to maybe try a new category like ‘fitness model’ and to try and retain my titles for another year.”
