“With love only for you” : Heartbreaking moment mum held 17-year-old son’s hand as he slipped away after fatal stabbing
This is the heartbreaking moment a mum held the hand of her 17-year-old son as he lay dying after a brutal stabbing.
Tragic Camran Green was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after he was knifed in the stomach.
His devastated mum, Emma Green, 35, today (Tues) told how she gripped his hand as he slipped away at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in Gloucester.
And she called for her son’s attacker – who remains on the run after the killing on Sunday night – to be brought to justice.
It comes as police announced they have launched a murder investigation into the stabbing, which took place at a property in Cheltenham, Glos.
Camran’s mum said she arrived at her son’s bedside at 5am on Monday morning after police blue-lighted her there from her home in Tamworth, Staffs.
Emma posted a photo of the agonising moment she said her final goodbye to her boy, with the caption: “With love only for you.”
She said: “I wanted to keep the memory of me holding him. It means everything to me.
“It shows that I was there for him when I gave birth to him and I was there for him when he passed away.
“I was with him the whole time. I got there at about 5am – the police picked me up and took me there.
“I sat with him until he passed away at around 9.08am. I asked him, ‘Why are you here? Why did this have to happen?'”
She also paid tribute to Camran, who “would do anything for anybody”.
Emma has no idea why her son was in Cheltenham, Glos., – 50 miles from his home in Wednesbury in the West Midlands.
She said: “Everybody loved him. He could get along with everybody and he had lots of friends.
“I don’t understand why people have to use weapons when they know full well what consequences it has.
“He has got three brothers and two sisters and it is all mixed emotions at the moment.
“My four-year-old doesn’t know, my six-year-old is trying to get his head around it.
“We are all just in shock. I just don’t know what I’m feeling.
“I’m feeling angry, upset and confused. I don’t know what to think at the moment.
“I want him to be remembered as a loving, caring, generous guy who would do anything for anyone.
“Whoever did it will have to be caught and justice to be served.”
She added: “To be honest, I don’t even know why he was in Gloucestershire.”
It comes as the mother of Asher Maslin, who is serving a 24-year sentence for murdering hairdresser Hollie Gazzard, 20, urged the killer to hand himself in.
In a heartfelt post on Facebook, Sam Maslin pleaded: “Give yourself up.
“Not only have you taken a boy’s life and left his family and friends devastated for ever, you have gone and devastated your own family and friends forever.”
Writing on social media, Keris Page Green, Camran’s cousin, also paid to the youngster.
She said: “Can’t believe what I’m hearing and how sick this world actually is.
“My cousin died from stab wounds this morning, can’t believe it.
“R.I.P. Camran make sure you look after my niece.”
Stacey Flood, meanwhile, wrote: “Totally (sic) shock, just seems to be bad news all the time. The good ones are always taken early xx”
The police investigation has now passed to detectives working as part of the regional Brunel Major Crime Investigation Team.
Detective Inspector Ruth Mather said: “We understand the concern this prompts in the local community but at the moment it’s too early to provide any answers about the circumstances as we are still following up a number of inquiries.
“What I can say is that as well as our detectives working near the scene we have local PCs and PCSOs patrolling and knocking on doors in the area to provide reassurance and gather further information.”
She added: “In the meantime we’re doing everything we can to trace the person responsible and have specialist officers offering support to the victim’s family.”
Anyone with information should contact police.
